If
you are looking for a great introduction to the Hillsborough
River, just have an hour or so to paddle, or are a first-time
paddler, why not try an hourly rental out of John B. Sargeant
Park. This is a great option for those just looking to fish.
This is a great way to check out Flint Creek or edge up
into the 17 Runs or paddle downstream as far as you like
and return to Sargeant Park. We open at 9:00 a.m. daily.
Last hourly rental is at 3:30 p.m.
Hourly Rental Rates
- Prices
do not include park's $2.00 per car parking fee.
- Prices
do not include 7% sales tax.
- Rates
subject to change without notice.
- Major
credit cards accepted.
- Gift
Certificates available.
- Paddles,
life vests, and river map are included in hourly rental
rates.
- Hourly
rentals available at John B. Sargeant Park ONLY.

Tandem
canoe or kayak
1st
Hour: $15.00 per
tandem (2 paddlers)
2nd Hour: $10.00 per tandem (2 paddlers)
Each additional Hour: $5.00 per tandem (2 paddlers)
Some tandem canoes are large enough to accommodate center
passengers as follows:
under 12 (2 center passengers maximum):
Free
12 - 17 (1 center passenger maximum):
$5.00
18 or older (1 center passenger maximum):
$8.00 (passenger fees
are a flat rate not hourly)
Solo kayak
1st Hour: $14.00
2nd Hour: $8.00
Each additional Hour: $3.00

Hourly rentals MUST be back to the landing by 5:00 p.m.
NO exceptions.
- Remember,
it will take you approximately 1 1/2 times as long to
paddle back up river as it did to paddle down.
- For
your protection, we reserve the right to cancel hourly
rentals because of inclement weather, high water, or river
conditions.
- Fishing
on the river is permitted, however, a fishing license
is required.
- Dress
for the weather. Bring plenty of water and perhaps snacks
or lunch if you'll be out multiple hours. (What to bring list)
